Bohol is a province of the Philippines located in the Central Visayas region, and Magic Oceans Dive Resort, situated in Anda on the island’s east coast, occupies a privileged position within this beautiful and verdant destination. Often described as the “Jewel of Bohol”, the area remains peaceful and largely untouched, offering stretches of white-sand coastline that provide a glimpse of the natural beauty to come. The resort is set within a beachfront paradise framed by a steep rocky backdrop, lush jungle, and a tropical fruit nursery, while the surrounding landscape is rich with palm trees, hibiscus, jasmine, and an array of vibrant tropical flowers.

The resort features 16 spacious bungalows, each designed to maximise comfort and relaxation, with large balconies offering panoramic views of the tropical surroundings. Guests are able to unwind in private seating areas while enjoying the tranquil atmosphere. Inside, the bungalows are furnished in a native style and include a king-size bed, wardrobe with safe, desk, fully stocked minibar, and tea and coffee making facilities. Bathrooms are equipped with a powerful shower, bath, pool towels, toiletries, and a hairdryer. All accommodation is air-conditioned and includes complimentary unlimited mineral water, WiFi, and access to an on-site laundry service.

Magic Oceans Dive Resort offers a restaurant and bar serving a relaxed selection of meals and refreshments, alongside a swimming pool that is ideal for both dive training and leisure. For added relaxation, guests may enjoy treatments at the on-site spa, which features a serene Japanese-inspired garden setting, air-conditioned massage suites, a hand and foot spa offering manicures and pedicures, and a yoga terrace where regular classes and practice sessions are held.

The resort is also home to a stunning house reef with direct access from the dive centre, making it ideal for both divers and snorkellers. While the region is renowned for its extensive network of dive sites along the Anda coastline, it also offers a wide variety of land-based experiences. Highlights include excursions to the iconic Chocolate Hills, where visitors may climb 200 steps to admire panoramic views of more than 1,200 conical hills spread across 50 square kilometres. The Philippine Tarsier and Wildlife Sanctuary offers the opportunity to observe one of the world’s smallest and most endangered primates in its protected natural habitat.

For more adventurous experiences, guests can snorkel with turtles at Turtle Reef or enjoy adrenaline activities such as the tree-top zip line and cable car at Loboc Ecotourism Adventure Park. A visit to Can-Umantad Waterfalls offers a scenic end to the day, often combined with a firefly-watching experience and dinner aboard a floating restaurant, where guests can witness the natural glow of fireflies as night falls.

Dining at Magic Oceans Dive Resort is relaxed and social, reflecting the laid-back atmosphere of Bohol’s coastal diving lifestyle. The resort’s open-air restaurant is set within tropical surroundings, where guests dine in a peaceful garden environment that blends naturally with the island setting. Meals are prepared fresh and served daily, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner all available on-site, allowing guests to remain comfortably within the resort throughout the day.

The culinary offering features a varied mix of Filipino specialities, Asian-inspired dishes, and familiar Western favourites, designed to cater to an international clientele. Menus are typically designed to be flexible and approachable, with freshly prepared options that change regularly to reflect seasonal ingredients and guest preferences. The emphasis is placed on quality, freshness, and variety rather than formal dining structure.

In the evenings, dining often takes on a more communal and relaxed style, with set menus or à la carte options depending on the day’s selection. Guests are encouraged to dine at a leisurely pace, often sharing stories from their dives in a friendly and informal atmosphere. The combination of freshly cooked food, attentive but unobtrusive service, and a tranquil tropical setting creates a dining experience that complements the resort’s focus on diving, relaxation, and island simplicity.

Anda, located along the coastline of Bohol, offers approximately 16 kilometres of dive sites, all of which are easily accessible from Magic Oceans Resort, making it an ideal base for a diving holiday in the region. The resort’s spacious dive centre is designed to comfortably accommodate up to 35 divers, with each guest provided with a dedicated personal space for the duration of their stay, ensuring convenience and organisation throughout the diving experience.

The dive centre is well equipped with modern facilities, including showers, large rinse tanks for equipment and cameras, and a dedicated camera area complete with charging sockets and airguns. As a PADI-affiliated centre, it offers both DIN and international tank connections, as well as Nitrox, catering to a wide range of diver preferences and certification levels. Diving is conducted from traditional Filipino “Bangka” boats, providing easy access to over 30 dive sites suitable for all levels of experience, alongside excellent snorkelling opportunities.

The region is particularly well known for its impressive wall dives and rich macro marine life. Beginner divers can enjoy shallow sites such as Dap Dap, which features vibrant coral formations, reef walls, turtles, sea snakes, nudibranchs, and schools of humphead parrotfish. Lamanok Island is another highlight, renowned for macro sightings including frogfish, nudibranchs, blue-spotted rays, and octopus. Night dives at Wonder Wall offer a unique opportunity to observe Mandarin fish emerging after dark, creating a memorable underwater experience. Whale sharks are also occasionally encountered during regular dives, while a nearby site discovered by the dive team offers more regular opportunities to observe and interact with these gentle giants.

The Philippines lies in the heart of the Pacific Ocean and benefits from a tropical climate throughout the year. The country experiences two distinct seasons: dry and wet. Between January and May, conditions are generally dry, with only occasional rain showers. Bohol, like much of the Visayas region, enjoys predominantly favourable weather conditions for most of the year, making it possible to dive at Magic Oceans Resort year-round. Although rain showers can occur, they are typically brief and do not significantly affect daily activities. Underwater visibility generally ranges from 10 to 35 metres and remains relatively consistent throughout the year.

Anda is widely recognised for its exceptional marine biodiversity, offering encounters ranging from the smallest macro life to some of the ocean’s largest species. Divers may observe delicate creatures such as bargibanti pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs, and black hairy frogfish, alongside larger marine life including whale sharks and, on occasion, manta rays. The underwater environment is further enhanced by vibrant coral formations, large schools of fish, dramatic reef walls, caves, sloping reef systems, and mangrove ecosystems, creating a diverse and rewarding destination that appeals to divers of all levels and interests.

Average temperatures in the dry season (November-May): Air 27°c / Sea: 28°c

Average temperatures in rainy season (June-October): Air 26°c / Sea 27°c
